Open Mainframe Project Members and Community,
As kids start back into school for the fall (with many of us doubling as assistant teachers for virtual schools), Open Mainframe Project is gearing up for it’s inaugural Open Mainframe Summit, being held from September 16-17. We can’t wait for it – here are a few things we’re excited about!
Focusing on Diversity
We are proud to drive diversity at this event, with more 30% female speakers. The program committee has also focused on the next generation of mainframes, with also over 30% of talks coming from those newly tenured in the mainframe ecosystem. This mix has brought a broad number of topics and enthusiasm and showcases the true nature of the mainframe world.
Additionally, we are pleased to welcome Jeanne Glass, Founder & CEO of VirtualZ Computing, who will host a panel of female leaders in the mainframe industry to draw attention to the concept of “Observability” as organizations look to create more diverse spaces. Learn more about this talk at https://sched.co/dxYM.
Highlighting Thought Leadership
We are excited to announce several new keynote speakers.
-
- Milan Shetti, President, Z Systems Business Unit, Rocket Software
- Kate Stewart, Senior Director of Strategic Programs, Linux Foundation
- George DeCandio, Chief Technology Officer, Broadcom Inc, Mainframe Software Division
- Meredith Stowell, Vice President Z Ecosystem, IBM
- Haseeb Jawad, Director, Product Management, Rocket Software and Sean Grady, Senior Software Architect, Rocket Software
These keynotes add to the already stellar keynote line up of Jim Zemlin, Ross Mauri, Greg Lotko, and Brian Behlendorf, and are sure to provide great insight to the open source strategy and the investments in the mainframe ecosystem.
Thanking our Supportive Ecosystem
Thank you to IBM and Rocket Software for joining Broadcom as Platinum sponsors. Additionally, we welcome Micro Focus as a Silver sponsor, which compliments Gold sponsors SUSE and Vicom Infinity. We are incredibly appreciative for all of these sponsors – we couldn’t do this event without their support. Be sure to visit their booths (as well as the Open Mainframe Project booth) at the event to learn more about their work in the mainframe open source ecosystem.
Additionally, The Fourth Industrial Revolution has declared its support by being our exclusive media sponsor. Stay tuned here for video previews of sessions, interviews with keynote speakers and more before, during and after the conference!
