This quarter’s council focuses on high profile announcements made by IBM Z. The event will kick off with IBM’s Program Director and Offering Lead for Z Hardware, Tina Tarquinio, discussing IBM’s latest business class Z offerings – z14 ZR1 and Rockhopper II. Next on the agenda, Elton de Souza will review the brand new Hyper Protect Services announced at IBM Think in Las Vegas. After the break, Felipe Miranda from Red Hat will give an update on the latest direction of the RHEL operating system. Bill Bittner, from z/VM Client Focus and Care, will then give a preview of the upcoming z/VM 7.1. The last presentation of the day brings some local flare to the event. Alan Eliscu from Bergen Community College will talk about their IBM Z curriculum offerings and bring in some BCC students to talk about projects they are working on as part of the program.
