You’re invited to join us for the next session of the Linux on IBM Z Executive Advisory Council. We launched this council in 2002 in order to garner your insights and foster communications among the IBM Z Linux community. We are grateful for Verisk’s gracious invitation to host this council session at their auditorium, particularly given our tremendous gains in attendance and popularity.

This quarter’s council focuses on cloud and workloads. The council is pleased to have Joes Castano IBM VP of IBM Z and LinuxONE. Jose will be discussing Linux on IBM Z and LinuxONE strategy and future directions. Next on the agenda we have James Vincent, Senior System Architect from Velocity Software. James will be sharing details on the Education Cloud Service Velocity is hosting, as well as architecture details behind it. The next session will be a Docker Strategy and Futures discussion led by James Frey who is Docker’s Managing Director of Northeast and FSI business unit. After James, the council is pleased to have Michael Freedman PHD Timescale cofounder and CTO. Michael will be discussing how Timescale extents Postgres with time series and performance capabilities. Last on the agenda we have John Mertic, Linux Foundation Director of Program Management for the Open Mainframe Project. John will be reviewing the results of the survey recently conducted by the Open Mainframe Project.
