zOS Upgrade to V2.1

• Although many customers are migrating to z/OS V2, there are some customers running z/OS 1.11 and other older software that may need to order z/OS 1.13 to migrate forward in a coexistence supported environment.   If you have a customer that needs to order z/OS 1.13, they should be encouraged to order it TODAY.   Recommended last date to order is January 17, and all orders must be processed by January 31, 2014 when it is withdrawn from marketing.
• Customers already running z/OS 1.12 and z/OS 1.13 are encouraged to migrate soon to z/OS V2 to take advantage of newer functions such as zEnterprise Data Compression (zEDC),  Flash Express, and improvements in batch run time, DFSMS, and VSAM RLS.   In order to avoid getting caught in an unsupported environment, z/OS 1.12 customers should migrate to z/OS V2.1 before z/OS 1.12 end of support in September, 2014.
• Key dates

◦                    z/OS V2:   z/OS V2.1 is orderable and customized via Infinity Systems Quickload Product.

◦                    January 17, 2014 : Recommended last date for processing orders for z/OS V1.13 via Quickload.

◦                    January 31, 2014: End of Marketing for z/OS V1.13 (5694-A01) (See Software withdrawal 913-103, dated June 04, 2013).

September 30, 2014: End of Support for z/OS V1.12 (5694-A01) (See Software Support Discontinuance, 913-149, dated August 6, 2013)
