Rocket recently made more than 30 open source languages and tools available for free for z/OS IBM mainframes, including Python and Git. It’s now possible for nearly anyone to program a mainframe using languages they already know, giving developers full access to all enterprise systems and data—even if they’re not experienced mainframers. Anyone can download individual languages and tools at. All 30+ tools are supported on z/OS 1. 12 and up.
